Fox News is currently running an online poll allowing visitors to its website to choose "Who would you want to jump in as a Republican candidate in a brokered convention?" The available choices are New Jersey Governor Chris Christie, 2008 GOP vice presidential candidate and former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin, Congressman Paul Ryan (R-WI), former Florida Governor Jeb Bush and current Indiana Governor Mitch Daniels.
As of this writing, Palin is way out in front with more than 49,000 votes, nearly twice those of second-place Christie, who has tallied over 27,000. Ryan (16,000+), Bush (just over 13,000) and Daniels (well under 10,000) trail far behind.
Online polls are by definition "unscientific," but they have the virtue of very large sample sizes.
