The former Alaska governor said it was "painful" to watch President Obama's acceptance speech to last night's DNC convention. She called him out for praising our men and women in the military last night after having been ready "to throw our troops under the bus" by threatening to shut down the federal government rather than accept a few billion dollars in spending cuts during a budget debate in 2011. At the time, Obama had overturned a Reagan-era OMB directive which prevented suspending military paychecks during a government shutdown. Palin made the observation that the president is "the antithesis of consistency."
The 2008 GOP vice presidential candidate also criticized what was apparently a substantial majority of convention delegates for booing the decision to write God back into the Democrat Party platform. She said it was the equivalent of "denying our Lord three times." Governor Palin said that was "a slap in the face" for Democrats of faith.
